Yisah is from the Djugun, Gija, Karrijarri and Nyikina peoples of the Kimberly region.

Yisah’s background is in community development. After returning to her home town and while employed by a Youth Development Program Yisah realised creative ways were needed to engage and encourage the local female youth in Derby to dream big about their futures. This soon led to discussions about a Strong Women Business Gathering. After learning more about micro-business Yisah decided to follow her passion and start her own business, Djugun Designs in 2021.

Yisah is committed to supporting strength-based community-led initiatives that both generate opportunity and promote equity.

Yisah is looking forward to the 2022 West Kimberley Strong Women Business Gathering and the seeds that will be planted from it and the social change it will bring to her region.
