We’re excited to be collaborating with Camera Story to capture this year’s Strong Women Business Gathering.

Camera Story is a social enterprise that works alongside Kimberley women developing practical photographic skills; collaborating on visual storytelling; and creating enterprising opportunities for women and their families.

Camera Story has partnered with the Perth Centre for Photography as part of their Exposure 3.0: New Voices in WA Photography mentee program created to provide skills development, mentoring, professional opportunities and network development for emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander photographers from Western Australia. We’re been lucky enough to have two Exposure Collective artists photograph our Gathering!

The Ladies New Look Photo Booth is an interactive portrait studio run by a group of photographers from Bidyadanga. This collaborative project is a culmination of workshops held with Camera Story, Broome CIRCLE and the Bidyadanga Women's Centre.

Over a few months the workshops covered a range of topics from technical aspects through to focused creative development. The focus was on building capacity and confidence amongst women in the community, providing the women with a safe space where they can explore their creativity, culture and identity through a camera lens.

The workshops series was celebrated with an exhibition showcase held at Broome CIRCLE and at the Bidyadanga Women’s Centre.

Photos will be available to download through this site or through Winun Ngari.
